London based Chinese violist Wanshu Qiu is an active chamber musician whose work spans string quartet, orchestral and cross-disciplinary performance.
She is the violist of the award-winning Kyan Quartet, artists of the City Music Foundation and prize-winners of the Royal Over-Seas League.
Wanshu has appeared at festivals including Lucerne Festival, IMS Prussia Cove, Encuentro de Música Santander, Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. She also performs with ensembles including Aurora Orchestra, the Hallé, BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Collective and Nash Ensemble.
Originally from Chengdu, she studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Academy of Music, and has pursued chamber-music studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Chamber music and collaboration remain at the heart of her musical life
